CRAFTYSHAG'S SHOP

• I live in Surprise, Arizona.  I am an avid craftier and enjoy sewing, knitting, embroidery, crochet.  I have tried other crafts but seem to go back to these basic ones.  I am the mother of two, mother in law of two and grandmother of two.  My husband and I have been married for 55 plus years and are both retired from the work force.  We are natives of Nebraska, Go Huskers.  We enjoy  living in the desert and no snow to shovel.

I started sewing at an early age and found I really enjoyed it.  From sewing I branched out to hand embroidery and mad my first quilt top before I got out of high school.  My mother helped me hand quilt it and I still have it to this day.  It had all 50 state birds and flowers on it.  After that experience I learned to crochet and had fun making many doilies, then branching out to more items.  I crocheted a bedspread and several table cloths, so the big items did not scare me.  Then on to learn how to knit.  First item I made was a sweater with a design in it.  From then on I have been crafting non stop for the lasts 67 years.  I still have the treadle sewing machine I learned to sew on.

I have been known to be a perfectionist with my work.  I aim to do my best with anything I try to do. I  have made wedding dresses, prom dresses, complete bridal party dresses, and even opera length gloves out of swim suit fabric.

I have made men's slacks, suit jackets, lingerie and swim suits.

Yes, I enjoy a challenge.

I also do home decoration projects such as cornice boards and window treatments.

If someone does not like my work I try to make it over to their satisfaction.

I learned to make western shirts by cutting a worn out shirt up and using that as a pattern.  While I do not make my own patterns I will put several together to get the look we want.

I hope that you will take time to look at items I have posted here and go to my Etsy shop where I have a complete listing of over 700 items.  If someone wants a different color, team, or whatever, I will do my best to find the fabric to complete the project.
